Community Development Approach
It begins with a four-day social preparation phase that includes assessments, training, and developing an action plan. Next, communities express interest and request support, followed by an assessment of how the program can assist. In the engagement phase, people are invited to join community activities and training to build relationships and understanding.
Finally, the continuation phase focuses on monitoring, evaluating, and sustaining community efforts through teamwork and leadership development.
Climate Smart Gardening Project
It equips vulnerable families to become more self-sufficient by growing food at home, allowing parents—especially mothers—to care for their children while gardening nearby.
Participants learn practical gardening, organic farming, and water conservation techniques to build food security and economic independence. The project supports HoH’s vision of restoring dignity and creating sustainable futures for women and girls, while strengthening community resilience in line with Fiji’s climate and gender action plans.
Additionally, it has opened doors within these communities to receive our broader teachings on human trafficking, family connectedness, and child safety.
