Qele (nge-lay) is a local word that means ’from the earth’ that describes our traditional hand-crafted work. The clay is dug from the jungles on the Fiji islands to be fired in our brick and mud ovens. This microenterprise benefits sexually exploited mothers who are now getting a fresh start at life, building skills, business confidence, and pride in their accomplishments.
From mixing the clay, forming the beads, firing the kiln and stringing the beads, we mothers work teogether to create beautiful necklaces for your enjoyment and our sustenance.
